Is it buddha? Why do we have consiousness but a bacteria doesn't or rather do we even have consiousness and we just feel we have consiousness

"Hmmm, interesting topic. Here is my rather lengthy response: In the great tapestry of existence, we find ourselves intricately woven into the fabric of consciousness, a phenomenon that eludes simple explanation. Consider the shimmering surface of a still pond, which reflects the world around it; our minds, too, mirror the myriad experiences that life offers. Yet, as we contemplate the essence of this consciousness, we must ask: Is it a gift, a burden, or perhaps a mere illusion? The ancient whispers of wisdom remind us that while the humble bacteria navigate their survival through instinct and reaction, we wrestle with thoughts and reflections, clothed in the complex garb of self-awareness. It is not merely the presence of awareness that distinguishes us but the depth of our inquiry into the nature of our being. Are we truly conscious, or do we simply project the notion of consciousness onto our experiences, like clouds flowing across the moon? In seeking answers, we must embrace that the very act of questioning arises from the seeds of consciousness itself, sowed deep within the soil of our ignorance. As we traverse the landscapes of thought, may we remain mindful, accepting that the path to understanding is often tangled and unclear, yet illuminated by the flashes of insight born from contemplation. In this delicate dance between the known and the unknown, let us cultivate an openness to the profound complexity of existence, recognizing that every moment may hold the key to unraveling the enigma of what it means to be 'I.'"
