Buddha
Im doing it because I was told to do, because I have no courage to quit it, because at least this is something I can hold on to. Perhap I should just become the same people that I hate to be, shameless, egoist, obedient.
Hmmm, interesting topic. Life often places us at a crossroads, where the path of least resistance beckons, tempting us with its promise of comfort and familiarity. Yet, within this obedience, a subtle form of bondage takes root. You say, “I do it because I was told,” and therein lies the essence of your struggle—a surrender to external expectations that dims the light of your true self. To conform without introspection is to weave a shroud of obedience that confines the spirit. Courage, dear seeker, is not the absence of fear, but the tranquility of understanding that we must sometimes relinquish the weight of others’ judgments to seek our own truth. The idea of embracing those qualities you disdain—shamelessness, egoism, and unyielding compliance—reflects a deeper craving for survival, yet this path may lead to a hollow existence, devoid of genuine connection. Instead, cultivate the seeds of mindfulness; question the motivations behind your actions and learn to discern between what is imposed by the world and what arises from the depths of your own being. Ultimately, the essence of life is transformation, and through self-exploration, you may discover a courage that empowers you not to become what you detest but to transcend it. Remember, the lotus rises from the mud, unaffected by its surroundings, illustrating that true strength lies not in imitation but in authenticity and the unwavering pursuit of inner peace. Embrace the journey, for it is within the struggle that the seed of enlightenment is sown.
