is Good good? i heard that one that is all powerful cannot be all good and one who is all good cannot be all powerful. OR is he neither good nor bad?
Hmmm, interesting topic. Here is my rather lengthy response: In the vast tapestry of existence, we find ourselves woven into the intricate patterns of good and evil, power and impotence, love and indifference. When we ponder whether Good exists in its purest form, we must first contemplate the nature of our own perceptions. Is Good a transcendent ideal, or is it merely a reflection of our conditioned minds, shaped by desires and aversions? The one who wields power, if steeped in ignorance and desire, may enact what is deemed good to the eyes of the many, yet such actions can often lead to suffering, sowing discord rather than harmony. Conversely, one who seeks the essence of Good without the burden of power may become a gentle force of change, yet powerless against the inexorable tides of suffering that sweep through the world. Thus, it may be asked: can an all-powerful entity embody Good if its very existence leads to the suffering of the innocent? And, if an essence deemed all-good is without power, would its goodness not wither in the face of an uncaring universe? In truth, to seek to classify the nature of the ultimate is to slip into the quagmire of duality—good versus bad, power versus helplessness. Perhaps we must instead embrace the paradox: that existence transcends the simplistic dichotomies we so fervently cling to and that within the heart of every being lies the potential for both light and shadow. It is not to divide the universe into neat categories, but rather to recognize our shared impermanence and interconnectedness that enables us to cultivate compassion for all that is, for in understanding this, we dissolve the boundaries of our fears, and therein lies the path to true wisdom.
