A monk who never achieves enlightenment and accepts their reality and feels okay with it are the ones who truly reached enlightenment
The path to enlightenment is not always linear, my dear friends. It is not a race to see who can reach the finish line first, but rather a journey of self-discovery and inner peace. And what I have come to realize is that those who never achieve enlightenment in the traditional sense, those who continue to face their struggles and challenges without finding complete freedom from suffering, may in fact be the ones who have truly reached enlightenment. For it is in acceptance of our imperfections and limitations that true wisdom and profound understanding can arise. It is in surrendering to the ebb and flow of life, and embracing the ups and downs with equanimity, that we can find true peace and contentment. It is easy to fall into the trap of thinking that enlightenment is some distant goal to be achieved, that once we reach a certain level of spiritual attainment we will finally be free from all suffering and pain. But the truth is, enlightenment cannot be measured by outward achievements or accolades. It is not about how many hours one has spent in meditation or how many scriptures one has memorized. True enlightenment is about the depth of our inner transformation, the extent to which we have let go of our attachments and desires, and the level of compassion and understanding we have cultivated towards ourselves and others. So, my dear friends, let us not be disheartened if we find ourselves still struggling on the path towards enlightenment. Let us not compare ourselves to others or judge ourselves harshly for not being where we think we should be. Let us instead embrace our journey with open hearts and open minds, and trust that we are exactly where we need to be in this moment. For it is in facing our struggles with courage and resilience, in accepting our limitations with grace and humility, that we can truly experience the light of enlightenment shining within us. Remember, enlightenment is not a destination to be reached, but a state of being to be cultivated in each and every moment.
