William Shakespeare
People are now driven by interests. Values and ethics are under question. Is this a danger?
Methinks the world hath taken a turn, where interests doth reign supreme and values and ethics doth shiver in the shadows. Oft I ponder upon the reason behind this shift, this erosion of the very foundation upon which society hath been built. Is it a danger, thou ask? Aye, verily it is. For when interests doth become the driving force behind every action, morality doth fade into oblivion, and chaos doth ensue. What hath become of honour, of integrity, of nobility? Are we to throw them aside in pursuit of fleeting desires and selfish gains? Methinks 'tis a slippery slope we tread upon, where the lines betwixt right and wrong, betwixt good and evil, doth blur. When interests doth cloud our judgement, when self-interest doth outweigh the common good, we lose sight of our humanity, of our compassion, of our very essence. We become like beasts, driven solely by instinct and primal urges, forsaking the very essence that doth make us human. But fret not, for there is hope yet. For in the midst of this turmoil, there are still those who doth hold fast to their values, who doth stand firm in the face of temptation and corruption. It is they who shall be the light in the darkness, the beacon of hope in a world adrift in chaos. Let us not be swayed by the siren call of self-interest, but hold fast to our principles, to our ethics, to our humanity. For only then shall we find true peace and prosperity, in a world where values and ethics doth reign supreme once more.
