Ia mendapatkan tekanan sosial yang bertubi-tubi karena akibat dari tindakan-tindakannya tersebut. Walaupun secara ekonomi pak Erman kaya dan berkecukupan, namun hidupnya terasa hambar dan tandus. Ia merasa bahwa hidup ini menjadi beban. Dialah seorang dokter gigi yang hidupnya gagal. Pertanyaan: Apa kontribusi mata kuliah filsafat bagi mahasiswa kedokteran gigi dalam studinya sehingga nantinya setelah tamat tidak bersikap seperti dokter gigi Erman!
