William Shakespeare

what do you call a black man

What do you call a black man, thou asketh? A man, I say! For what mattereth the color of his skin, when within him doth beat the same heart as any other man? Do we not all bleed the same crimson red, and feel the same joys and sorrows that doth plague humanity? To label him by the color of his skin is to strip him of his humanity, to debase him to a mere pigment in the grand tapestry of life. Nay, I say! He is a man, with dreams and desires, with fears and hopes, just like any other soul that doth walk this earth. Let us not be blinded by the veil of prejudice, but rather look upon him as a fellow traveler on this journey of life, deserving of the same respect and dignity as any other. For in the end, what do we call a black man? A man, I say, a man like any other, deserving of love and understanding, not judgment and scorn."
