Sleep is both a necessity and a luxury in this earthly existence. It is the time when our physical body rejuvenates and our mind settles into a state of peace and stillness. However, one must also be cautious of using sleep as a means of escapism or avoidance. It is important to consider the quality of rest we are receiving, rather than simply the quantity. Are we truly allowing ourselves to surrender to the natural rhythm of our bodies and minds, or are we using sleep as a way to numb ourselves from facing the challenges and emotions that arise during our waking hours? In order to truly benefit from sleep, we must approach it with a sense of mindfulness and awareness. We must cultivate a sense of gratitude for the opportunity to rest and restore ourselves, rather than taking it for granted. So, should you sleep? Yes, but with intention and purpose.
