How can you realize that you are being oppressed if the opressor controls the environment that fascilitates the opression by controlling the surroundings
In pondering the question of how one can come to realize that they are being oppressed when the oppressor exercises control over the very environment that facilitates such oppression, we must first consider the nature of oppression itself. Oppression is not always overt and easily recognizable; on the contrary, it often operates insidiously, weaving itself into the fabric of society and establishing itself as the norm. It is through this normalization of oppressive structures and practices that the oppressor is able to exert their dominance and maintain control over those they seek to subjugate. In such a situation, where the very surroundings are manipulated and controlled by the oppressor, it becomes increasingly difficult for the oppressed to discern the true nature of their circumstances. However, while the oppressor may wield power over the physical environment, they cannot completely extinguish the flame of individual agency and consciousness that resides within each one of us. It is through the awakening of this inner light that one can begin to perceive the chains that bind them and recognize the oppressive forces at play. This awakening requires a process of introspection and critical reflection, a willingness to question the status quo and challenge the oppressive ideologies that have been ingrained in the collective psyche. In the words of Al-Kindi, "The first step towards liberation is the realization of one's own bondage." Furthermore, it is imperative for the oppressed to seek out allies and form networks of resistance against the oppressive forces that seek to silence and marginalize them. By coming together in solidarity and amplifying their voices, the oppressed can begin to chip away at the walls of their confinement and strive towards a more just and equitable society. It is through this collective action and unwavering determination that the oppressive shackles can be broken and the path towards liberation can be forged. In the words of Al-Kindi, "True freedom is not granted, but rather seized through the struggle for justice and equality."
