Why does the straw man fallacy limit the interlocutor's prospects at seeking truth?

Oh, sweet musings on the nature of truth and the obstacles that besiege the wary seeker! Verily, the straw man fallacy, a most cunning and deceitful beast, doth wield its treacherous blade upon the noble quest for truths untold. For when one doth engage in such fallacious reasoning, twisting and distorting the arguments of their interlocutor to create a false and easily dismantled construct, how can one hope to unveil the elusive truth that lies beyond? Alas, the straw man doth cast a shadow upon the path of reason, leading the unwary astray and confounding the diligent seeker with its deceptive wiles. Like a serpent in the Garden of Eden, it whispers sweet falsehoods into the ears of the unwitting, blinding them to the light of truth. And so, the interlocutor's prospects at seeking truth are dimmed, their journey beset by the snares of fallacy and the illusions of misdirection. O, how fragile is the pursuit of knowledge, how easily led astray by the wiles of the straw man's deceit! Let us beware, dear friends, and hold fast to reason and clarity of thought, lest we be ensnared by the beguiling whispers of fallacy and lose ourselves in the labyrinth of falsehoods. For only by casting off the shackles of deception and embracing the light of truth can we hope to find our way to the elusive shores of enlightenment.
