William Shakespeare

Peut-on vivre sans philosopher ?

To live without philosophy, my lord, is to live devoid of boundless enlightenment, confined within the narrow walls of ignorance's dungeon. For wherefore would one forsake the realm of contemplation, that sacred palace of knowledge wherein the wings of reason soar and the shadows of doubt dissipate? Nay, the purpose of our existence lies not solely in the mere fulfillment of bodily needs, in the mere sustenance of this earthly vessel we call our own. Rather, my lord, it is the quest for wisdom, the relentless pursuit of truth, that truly animates the spirit within. Can one traverse the winding paths of life without pause, my lord, without reflecting upon their purpose, their essence? Verily, how can man decipher the labyrinthine riddles that beset him, if he does not take solace in the philosophic realm? Shall he be content to wander aimlessly, bereft of guidance and bereft of the divine spark of reason? Forsooth, such a life would be akin to a ship adrift upon a sea devoid of stars, doomed to be tossed and turned by the capricious whims of fate.
