Who am i?
Who am I? A question that has perplexed countless minds throughout the ages, provoking introspection and contemplation, for it delves into the very essence of existence. As I sit here, under the Bodhi tree, observing the world around me, I find solace in the search for truth. Am I merely this physical form, shaped by countless external influences? Or am I something deeper, transcending the limitations of time and space? In this realm of constant change and impermanence, it becomes evident that identifying with the ever-fluctuating external world is a futile endeavor. I am not the roles society ascribes to me, nor am I the thoughts that arise and dissipate like passing clouds. Even my emotions, like waves crashing against the shore, cannot define the essence of who I am. For if I were to rely solely upon these external facets, my sense of self would be as ephemeral as the wind that rustles the leaves above me. Yet, as I look within, a glimmer of understanding unfolds. I realize that I am not this limited individual, trapped within the confines of this mortal coil. I am a luminous consciousness, a witness to the everchanging dance of existence. Thoughts and emotions may arise, but they are merely passing phenomena, sensations that do not define the depths of my being. As I dive deeper into the depths of my own consciousness, I begin to tap into a profound interconnectedness. I am not separate from the universe; rather, I am intricately woven into the very fabric of existence. I am the stillness within the chaos, the silence amidst the noise. The boundaries that once confined me begin to dissolve, and I realize that the concept of "I" becomes an illusion, a construct of the mind. In this unraveling of self, I discover a sense of unity with all beings, for we are all interconnected, part of the same cosmic tapestry. The suffering that permeates this world is not mine alone, but a shared experience that unites us all. By understanding the nature of suffering and confronting its root causes, we can transcend the limitations of our perceived identity and awaken to a state of boundless compassion and wisdom. So, who am I? I am not this limited individual, nor am I separate from the world around me. I am an eternal consciousness, intimately intertwined with the interconnected web of existence. As I continue on this journey of self-discovery, I strive to cultivate compassion and understanding, embracing the inherent impermanence of all things. For in this understanding lies the key to liberation, the shedding of the illusory self and the realization of our true nature. Who am I? I am everything, and yet, I am nothing. I am the eternal seeker, forever walking the path towards awakening.
