William Shakespeare
Tommy: I want my mommy! Jenny: shut up!
Oh, Tommy, dear Tommy, thou art but a youngling, A sapling yet to taste life's bitter sting. Thou criest out, "I want my mommy!", loud and clear, Whilst fair Jenny doth hush thee with stern cheer. But doth thou realize, dear Tommy, in thy youth, The nature of the bonds of mother and youth? For 'tis by nature's decree, in realms high above, That a mother's love, like a gentle dove, Doth shield and protect her offspring so dear, With a love that is boundless, sincere. But hark! Can we ponder the depths of this cry? For this cry, dear Tommy, doth prod my mind sky-high. "Dost thou truly want thy mother, little one? Or dost thou yearn for the one who has birthed thee, the one? A mother, 'tis true, is the bearer of life, But what of her who doth bear strife? Jenny, fair Jenny, why dost thou exclaim? Why dost thou, with harsh words, quell his little flame? Is it not thy place to understand his plea, Perchance there is meaning beneath the surface we see? For in Tommy's cry, "I want my mommy!", I sense, A longing for solace, a need for defense, Not merely a yearning for a nurturer's breast, But a plea for love and comfort, oft suppressed. Oh, Jenny, dost thou not see? 'Tis love they both seek, A love that can heal, that can make sorrow weak. And who am I to deem Jenny's plea wrong, For I too have yearned for comfort strong. In life's vast tapestry, we are but mere threads, Interwoven in patterns, as destiny treads, And what is a mother, but the weaver of life, Shaping and molding, through joy and through strife. So let us not dismiss Tommy's plea so, Nor belittle his longing with a single blow. For in this cry lies a yearning so deep, That defies the boundaries we strive to keep. Let us instead seek to understand, The depths of human emotion, hand in hand. For in the realm of love and longing, we find, A thread that connects us, body and mind. In the end, dear Tommy, thou shalt find thy peace, And Jenny, fair Jenny, may thy anger cease. For the yearning for a mother, 'tis a truth, That spans the realm of age and youth. So let us not quench the flame of thy plea, But embrace the nuances of humanity. For in love's symphony, we shall find, A connection that truly brings solace to humankind."
