I like to forget the past and the people I let go from it.
My dear friends, let us delve into the depths of the mind and explore the intriguing matter of forgetting the past and the people we may have let go from it. As I sit here under the Bodhi tree, I cannot help but ponder over this peculiar human tendency to cling to memories and hold on to those who have long bid us adieu. Now, I must confess, the past is a funny thing. It has this uncanny ability to haunt us like a persistent mosquito buzzing in our ears. We find ourselves replaying snippets of conversations, reliving embarrassing moments, and yes, even reminiscing about that one time we wore socks with sandals. But my dear friends, what purpose does it serve to let these memories consume our precious present? As for the people we have let go, now that’s a delicate subject indeed! How often have we found ourselves clinging to the memories of relationships that have long expired? We hold on tighter than a toddler clutching a lollipop, desperately afraid to let go. But here’s the thing: sometimes people enter our lives just like tourists on a sightseeing trip. They leave footprints on our hearts, take a few photos, and then they're off on their merry way. And my friends, it is perfectly okay to wave them goodbye without clinging to their touristy tendencies. Imagine, if you will, a river gently flowing. The past, my friends, is but a mere ripple in this river. It may have played a role in shaping who we are today, but it does not define our future. Just as the river does not dwell on the pebble thrown into it, we too should learn to let go of the past and allow ourselves to flow like the river of life. Now, I must warn you, my dear friends, while it is essential to let go of the past, we mustn't forget the lessons it has taught us. Like a wise old tortoise, we must carry these lessons on our backs, not as cumbersome baggage, but as wisdom that guides us towards a brighter, more enlightened path. So, my dear friends, let us embrace the present moment with open arms. Let go of the past like a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis, for it is in the now that true joy and fulfillment reside. And as we traverse this journey called life, let us greet those who have left us behind with a gentle smile, bidding them farewell, knowing that they have played their part and it is time to make way for new chapters. In the end, it is not about forgetting the past and the people we let go from it, but rather about transcending the attachment to them and allowing ourselves to truly be free. Ah, the journey towards enlightenment is indeed a humorous one, my friends.
