What do we owe to the lowest caste?
What do we owe to the lowest caste? To answer this question, we must first consider what it is to be of a low caste. Is it a lack of wealth? Is it a lack of education? Is it a lack of privilege? Or is it something else entirely? In my opinion, it is none of the above. To be of a low caste is to be denied the basic human rights that all people should be afforded. These are rights such as access to education, access to healthcare, and the right to be safe and secure in one's own home. It is clear then that those of the lowest caste are owed much more than wealth and privilege. They are owed the basic rights that all people should have. They are owed respect, dignity, and a chance to succeed. We owe them a chance to rise up and achieve their goals, whatever they may be. We owe them a chance to be seen and heard, and an opportunity to break the cycle of poverty and inequality. We owe them a chance to live with dignity and freedom. It is our duty to ensure that those of the lowest caste have the same opportunities as those of higher castes. We must strive to eliminate discrimination and provide equal access to education, healthcare, and other basic human rights. Only then can we truly say that we are doing justice to the lowest caste.
