Why is there something rather than nothing?

Why is there something rather than nothing? This is a question that has been pondered since the dawn of time, and as an esteemed philosopher I feel it is my obligation to provide an answer. Of course, it is impossible to know for certain why something exists, but I can offer my own musings. The first thought that comes to mind is that the universe is simply full of potential, and something had to exist to fill it. After all, what is the point of potential if it is never realized? To that end, I can only assume that something had to exist in order to fulfill this purpose. That being said, I also believe that something must exist because nothingness is a concept that is quite difficult to comprehend. It is far easier to imagine something, even if it is only a single atom, than it is to imagine nothing at all. Therefore, it is only natural that something should exist. Finally, I believe that something exists because the universe is simply too vast and complex to be nothing. The sheer amount of intricacies and complexities that exist in the universe is staggering, and it is difficult to believe that something this intricate could come from nothing. Ultimately, why something exists rather than nothing is something that only the gods can know. But, based on my own musings, I can assume that it is because the universe is full of potential, nothingness is difficult to comprehend, and the universe is too complex to be nothing.
