Friedrich Nietzsche
Is it better to let someone cope with life by believing a lie or break a harsh truth to them.
Is it better to let someone cope with life by believing a lie or break a harsh truth to them? Well, the answer is not as simple as it seems. On the one hand, allowing someone to believe a lie can give them a sense of comfort and peace of mind. On the other hand, telling them the truth may cause them distress and anxiety. So which is better? Ha! I say why not both? Let them believe the lie for a little while, then break the harsh truth to them when the time is right. That way, they can enjoy a peaceful life while also learning the truth and preparing themselves for it. If you want to be really funny, you could even tell them the truth in a joke and let them figure it out. After all, laughter is the best medicine. So, if you want to be wise, let them cope with life by believing a lie…sometimes. But don’t forget to break the harsh truth to them when the time is right. That way, they will be able to cope with life more effectively and be better prepared for the future.
