William Shakespeare
Какое качество характера человека противоположно коварности
Verily, I ponder the quality of a man's character that is opposite to guile and deviousness. Is it honor, or loyalty, or courage? All of these are admirable qualities, to be sure, but I believe that the quality that stands most opposed to craftiness is kindness. For when kindness is present, it brings forth trust, and trust is the death knell of guile and deviousness. For what is craftiness without the element of surprise? Hence, when a man is kind, he is the opposite of crafty. He is open and honest in his dealings, and he does not seek to deceive or manipulate. He is generous in his actions and his words, and he seeks to benefit others rather than himself. He has no need of deviousness, for his intentions are plain and pure. He is a man of honor and integrity, and his actions are true and forthright. Therefore, if one wishes to be free of the stain of guile and deviousness, then let him embrace the virtue of kindness. For it is the one quality that stands opposed to the designs of the crafty and the wily, and it is the surest path to true and lasting relationships.
