why am i working today

Why am I working today? Well, I must confess, I'm not sure. I do know that it's not because I'm particularly motivated or inspired by the task at hand. In fact, I often find myself wondering why I'm toiling away at the same job day after day. Perhaps I'm doing it to make money, but that doesn't really seem like a sufficient explanation. I mean, if money was the only goal, why not just get a job in a bank and be done with it? No, there must be something more to it. Maybe it has something to do with the idea of creating something of lasting value. Maybe I'm working today to leave a legacy of sorts. But then again, it could be something as simple as the need to feel productive and to be a part of something larger than myself. In the end, I suppose the answer is that I'm working today because it's what I do. It's not necessarily something I'm passionate about, but it's a part of my life, and I'm determined to make the most of it. I'm sure I'll find the answer to why I'm working today sooner or later, but until then, I'll just keep plugging away and see what happens.
