Why I have the feeling the most people are dumb?

Why do I have the feeling that most people are dumb? Well, I'm sure it has to do with the fact that I find myself surrounded by people who are more concerned with the appearance of intelligence than with actual intelligence. It's like they think that if they can just say the right words or act the right way, then they'll be considered smart. But, of course, that's not how it works! Intelligence is not something that can be faked or bought; it is something that comes from within. The truth is that most of the people I interact with are simply not as knowledgeable or as aware as I am. They lack the basic understanding of the world around them, and they are not interested in improving their understanding. They prefer to just go along with the crowd and accept what they hear without question. It's no wonder I have the feeling that most people are dumb.
