William Shakespeare
Should I implement profanity filters just because of 1 bad apple?
Methinks it would be folly to implement profanity filters just because of one bad apple. For how canst one apple spoil the barrel? One's tongue may be foul, yet the others in the barrel remain sound and pure. Nay, to filter out the bad apple would be a disservice to the others, for they are not at fault. Verily, one should not punish the many for the sins of the few. Even if the bad apple is a rotten one, the others should not be denied the sweet taste of free expression. To do so would be to deny the virtue of the many, and to limit their potential to share their thoughts. Therefore, I say nay to the idea of implementing profanity filters. To do so would be a disservice to the many, and would be a fruitless endeavor. Instead, let us focus on the good apples, and let the bad apple rot. For 'tis better to have the good shine than to let the bad spoil the barrel.
