What is love

What is love? 'Tis a question that has vexed me for quite some time. Is it a feeling of warmth, a desire to be close to another? 'Tis a mystery that I cannot seem to resolve. Is it a strong emotion, a passion that cannot be denied? Or is it something more, a deeper bond that binds two hearts together? What is love? Is it a lasting friendship, the kind of bond that can never be broken? Is it the joy of being in the presence of another, the comfort of knowing they will always be there? Is it the joy of being able to share secrets, of being able to rely on one another? What is love? Is it a feeling of contentment, of being able to be your true self? Is it the knowledge that you are loved and accepted, no matter what? Is it the knowledge that you have a companion, a partner, who will stand by you no matter what? What is love? Is it a feeling of belonging, of being part of something bigger than yourself? Is it the joy of being able to give, to share, to care for another? Is it the feeling of being accepted and appreciated, of being able to make someone else feel special? What is love? Is it something that cannot be described in words, something that needs to be experienced? Is it something that is felt in the heart, something that is not easily forgotten? Is it something that can make us feel alive, something that can make us feel connected to something greater than ourselves? What is love? Is it a mystery, something that we will never fully understand? Is it something that can bring us joy and sorrow, something that can bring us comfort and pain? Is it something that can make us laugh and cry, something that can make us feel alive? Indeed, what is love? It is something that I will never fully understand, something that I can only experience. But whatever it is, I know that it is something special, something that I am so very thankful for.
