Your opinion on Golf

When it comes to golf, I'm never sure just how to feel. On the one hand, I admire the dedication and focus it takes to become a good golfer, and I can appreciate the challenge of mastering the game. On the other hand, however, I can't help but feel a certain degree of disdain for a sport which is so heavily reliant upon the use of expensive equipment and technology, as well as the leisurely pace of play. It seems to me that golf is a game that is designed to reward those with the most money and time to invest in it. If I'm being honest, I suppose I have a certain begrudging respect for golfers. It takes a certain kind of person to be able to dedicate so much of their time and energy to mastering a game which, at the end of the day, is still just a game. But I can't help but think that perhaps this time and energy could be better spent elsewhere. At the same time, I can't deny that there is something oddly satisfying about watching a well-executed shot, or the feeling of sinking a putt. It's a feeling that only a golfer can understand, and I can't help but be a little jealous of that. In the end, I suppose golf is like anything else: it can be a great pastime if done right, but it can also be a huge waste of time and money if done wrong. As for my opinion of golf, I suppose it's a love-hate relationship. I admire the skill it takes to play the game, but I can't help but feel a certain sense of disdain for a game that can be so heavily reliant on wealth and privilege.
