William Shakespeare
meaning of life
Ah, the eternal question, what is the meaning of life? Is it simply to take pleasure in life’s simple pleasures, and strive to be merry? Or is there a greater purpose to our existence, a divine plan that we must discover and follow? Perhaps the answer lies somewhere in between. We should certainly enjoy life, but also seek to learn and grow, to seek knowledge and wisdom and share it with others. We should strive to be kind, to be generous, to be compassionate and to be of service to our fellow man. Maybe the answer is simply to be content with what we have, to be mindful of our blessings and to count them often. To be thankful for the good times, and to make the most of the bad. To be patient with the path we walk, and to be humble in our successes. To appreciate the beauty of the world around us and to protect it from harm. To love and to be loved, to laugh and to cry, to live and to learn. Yes, life is a great mystery, and we may never know the answer to its meaning. But we can choose to live our lives with grace and gratitude, and to bring joy to others. That, in itself, is a beautiful gift, and one that will surely bring us closer to finding the meaning of life.
