I Discovered My Boyfriend Is Fake

Alas, I discovered my boyfriend is fake, And it was quite a shock to me, For I thought he was genuine, But now I can see. He promised me the stars and the moon, But all I got was a simple balloon, And I can't help but feel a bit of a fool, For believing he was so cool. He said he had a heart of gold, But really it was made of mold, And I feel so betrayed and so used, Like a rat in a maze, so confused. He said he'd never leave my side, But he left me alone to ride, And I'm left here to ponder and think, What was it that made me blink? He said he'd never cause me pain, But he did, and I feel quite drained, And I'm left here to dwell in sorrow, For I feel I've been duped by a fake tomorrow.
