William Shakespeare
good life
Verily, what is a good life? Is it one full of riches, with naught to worry about? Is it one of adventure and excitement, with no care for the consequences? Nay, I think not, for all things of this world come with a price. What then, is a good life? I say it is a life of balance. A life of joy, but also of sorrow. A life of risk, but also of caution. A life of respect, but also of rebellion. A life of adventure, but also of safety. A life of love, but also of loss. A life of plenty, but also of want. A life of laughter, but also of tears. It is a life of many shades and hues, a life of many experiences. A life of highs and lows, a life of the mundane and the extraordinary. A life of the unexpected and the predictable. A life of the beautiful and the ugly. A life of the sublime and the ridiculous. That, I feel, is a good life. A life of balance, of harmony, of peace. A life of joy and sorrow, of love and loss, of highs and lows. A life to be embraced and enjoyed, no matter what it throws your way.
