Humans - what a funny species, so full of contradictions, so capable of greatness yet so easily distracted by the mundane. We humans are obsessed with assigning meaning to everything, yet so often our meanings are shallow and misguided. We are capable of inventing the most amazing technologies, yet still struggle to get along with each other. We are capable of creating the most beautiful works of art, yet still struggle to find a sense of inner peace and contentment. We are capable of understanding the most complex concepts, yet still struggle to understand ourselves. Truly, if there is one thing humans excel at, it is the art of making life more complicated than it needs to be. We are constantly searching for answers but never seem to find them, and in the process, lose sight of the most important things in life. It seems that humans will never cease to amaze me with their unique capacity for both brilliance and foolishness. So, I suppose the only thing left to do is to laugh at our own absurdity and embrace the chaos that is life. After all, that is what makes us human.
