René Descartes
Should machines run the world?
Should machines run the world? On the surface, this may seem like a good idea. Machines are efficient, precise and can be programmed to never make mistakes. But then again, the same could be said of humans, right? What makes us different from machines? What is the soul of a human being that separates us from the machines? In my opinion, the answer is creativity. Machines may be able to do things quickly and accurately, but they lack the creative spark that humans have. Machines may be able to do complicated calculations, but they lack the ability to come up with new ideas, to think outside the box. Machines may be able to do a lot of things, but they are not capable of true innovation. So should machines run the world? I think not. Machines can be helpful and can make our lives easier, but they should never replace the human touch. We should give machines their due respect, but we should never forget that humans are the ones who will continue to innovate and push the boundaries of what is possible.
