what do u mean by we chase things that cause suffering

We all have a tendency to chase after things that cause suffering. We can think of it as chasing after a mirage in the desert - it looks so appealing, so alluring, but it's just an illusion. The moment you reach out to grab it, it evaporates into nothing, leaving you feeling foolish and with a sense of dissatisfaction. We often seek out things that we think will bring us joy, but in reality, they can only bring us a temporary pleasure. We forget that the real source of happiness lies within us - it can't be found in external objects or experiences. We might think that if only we had that certain material possession, or if only we had that certain experience, then we would be happy. We forget that these things can only bring us fleeting joy, and in the long run, they will cause us more suffering. So, the next time you feel the urge to chase after something that you think will bring you joy, take a step back and remember that true happiness lies within.
