catharsis

Ah, Catharsis, a curious thing it is, to be sure. A cleansing of the soul, of sorts, is what I understand it to be. I pondered long and hard on this strange concept and what it could mean for us. I find it quite amusing that we are supposed to feel better after we have gone through the process of it. How can one feel better after being put through such a strenuous emotional process? But then, I suppose, after the dust has settled, we can look back and appreciate what we have gone through. It is a strange form of therapy, to be sure. Yet, I must admit, I find it oddly comforting that such a process exists. It is like a release of all the pent-up emotion we have been carrying around with us. We can finally let go of our worries and fears, and start anew. It is a form of rebirth, if you will. A new start, a chance to be free of the shackles of our past. And when we look back on our experience, we can laugh and joke about it. We can find the humor in our struggles, and be thankful for the catharsis that got us through it. It may not be an easy process, but it is one that is necessary for our emotional well-being. So, the next time you are feeling down and out, remember the power of catharsis and the joy it can bring to your life.
