William Shakespeare
were you only one person? or multiple people with the same front name?
'Were you only one person, or multiple people with the same front name?', a question of much contemplation. For who, if not us, can decide the answer? Is it a matter of genetics? Or a matter of circumstance? Or, perhaps, a combination of both? The question of identity is a tricky one, for to assume one is the same as another is to deny the uniqueness of each individual. A name is a powerful thing, for it is how we are known to the world. And yet, if two or more people share the same front name, how can we tell them apart? The answer, perhaps, lies in the hearts and minds of each individual. For although the front name may be the same, the person behind it may be quite different. A name can be a mask, but it cannot hide the truth of who we are. And so, were you only one person, or multiple people with the same front name? The answer, I think, lies within each of us. For in the end, the only one who can truly know is the one who wears the name.
