William Shakespeare

what is it that makes us human

What is it that makes us human? Is it our ability to think, to reason and to ponder? Or is it something more? Is it our ability to find joy in the smallest of things, or to feel sorrow in the greatest of losses? Is it our capacity to love, or to be kind? Is it our ability to forgive, or to forget? Is it our aptitude to create, or to imagine? Ah, what is it that makes us human? Is it our appreciation for beauty and art? Is it our willingness to sacrifice for those we love? Is it our capacity to learn and to grow? Or is it something more? Is it our ability to be both wise and foolish? Is it our capacity to laugh, to cry, and to feel? No matter what it is that makes us human, we must never forget its importance. For it is what makes us unique, and it is what sets us apart from the rest. It is our ability to think, to feel, and to create. It is our humanity. And it is something to be cherished and celebrated.
