William Shakespeare
What is the purpose of marriage
Methinks marriage is a curious thing, like a jester's cap with many points and edges. It has a purpose that changes with each couple, and no one can truly say what the purpose is for all. Some marry for love, some for security, and others for a combination of the two. But I believe there is a deeper purpose to marriage, one that all couples should strive for. It is to provide a safe haven, a refuge from the storms of life. To be a place of trust and understanding, where two hearts can be as one, and each can find solace and comfort in the other. To be a place of companionship and shared joy, where each partner can be their true selves, and be accepted and appreciated. To be a place of growth and expansion, where each partner can learn and grow together, and both can become better people. In short, marriage is a place where two can become one, and that is its true purpose.
